Used cooking oil collection for dark kitchens
Delivery-only kitchens have no shop front, no walk-in customers and often no waste arrangement of their own. Collections that work around a shared site, and paperwork in your name rather than the building operator's.
A delivery-only kitchen is a fryer, a pass and a rider bay. There is no dining room to protect and no trading hours in the usual sense, but there are two problems a high street kitchen never has: you are usually one of a dozen operators inside somebody else's building, and the waste arrangements were set up for the building rather than for you. That matters, because your duty of care is yours and cannot be delegated to a landlord.
What makes dark kitchens different
The site's waste contract is not your paperwork
If the building removes your oil under its own arrangement, the transfer notes name the building. When an officer asks you for yours, "the site handles it" is not an answer. We set you up as the producer, so every note carries your business name.
One building, several operators
We can collect from more than one unit in the same building on the same visit, with separate accounts, separate drums and separate paperwork for each. Neighbouring operators are not sharing your figures.
Access is through somebody else's loading bay
Barrier codes, booked-in delivery windows, a shared bin store two floors down. Tell us once and it goes on the round, rather than a driver arriving and finding no way in.
Typical volume
A single delivery brand running one fryer usually fills a 60 litre drum every week or two. Units running several brands off the same fryers fill faster and often move to a wheeled container.
Not sure where you sit? Pick "Not sure" on the form and we will size it up on the first visit.
What dark kitchens ask most
How quickly can you start?
Fast. We typically call you back within minutes of your enquiry, your first collection is normally next day, and if you are urgent (an overflowing drum, an inspection tomorrow) call before noon and we will do everything we can to get to you the same day. After that you are on a fixed day every week or fortnight, with extra pickups on the same flexible basis.
Are you licensed?
Yes. London Oil Collection Ltd (company number 17353811) holds an Environment Agency Upper Tier Waste Carrier licence, registration CBDU649455, as a Carrier and Dealer. You can verify it on the Environment Agency public register.
What paperwork do I get and how do I access it?
Every collection generates a digital waste transfer note, stored in your secure online account. Log in at any time to download waste transfer notes and view your full collection history, with dates and litres collected. When an EHO or council inspector asks for your waste documentation, it is all there in seconds.
